We
have 3 spaces on our 20th & 21st September
course and are offering them on a first come first served basis for
the early bird price. Why do this I hear
you ask? Well we like to have our course numbers divisible by 3
because many of the practical activities (and there are many!) are
achieved in groups of 3 people. Also, at the end of the workshop
part of the course, trainee coaches are put into coaching circles
which consist of 3 people encouraging continued support of each
other, to practice coaching for the 50 coaching hours needed to
qualify and to share knowledge/experiences gained. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF

| HELLO FROM
YOUR TOP COACH - CURLY MARTIN |
Top | Greetings It was still
dark when I woke up this morning and yet there were no heavy clouds
in the sky. It was just because the longest day of summer has long
passed so that each day is shorter than the previous one by around
four minutes.
Of
course it still has 24 hours, it is just the hours of daylight that
are reducing gradually as an overture to autumn and winter. In other
words, dawn and twilight are becoming closer to each other.
Birds, animals and
plants all respond to these changes and instinctively modify the
stages of their life cycles accordingly. Many creatures start to
migrate thousands of miles each year which makes me wonder why they
were created with such a compelling, and apparently pointless, need
to expend so much energy.
Thanks to various discoveries and modern
technology, we can operate on a 24 hour day, regardless of the
positions of the sun, moon and stars. The only limit seems to be our
energy which may be why there are so many instances of ‘burn out’
and fatigue. Because we can, it doesn’t necessarily follow that we
have to – unlike those migrating creatures, our life doesn’t have to
be a struggle.
As
for that distance between dawn and twilight, it parallels the period
between our dawn of realisation that there is something we need to
learn, do or achieve and the twilight of our years when we see that
we still have so much to do and so little time.
Coaching is so well
bedded in reality, it is obvious that the sooner we act on a dawn
realisation, the longer we will have to manifest whatever we believe
we need to achieve. The power of coaching is that it enables you to
identify those objectives, to prioritise your desires and convert
struggle into enjoyable fulfilment.

All the testimonials we receive from our
coaches are given to us spontaneously, freely, joyously and without
any prompting. We do not give gifts or incentives for delegates to
write testimonials for our courses because we do not have to, they
send them because they valued the course. Unfortunately we have
heard that one of the larger coach training providers was doing just
that - giving a gift for the best written testimonial! Therefore how
can a visitor to their website believe the many quotes on display.
This upsets me because it not only devalues their training, it also
reflects badly on the integrity of our profession as a whole. Here
are testimonials we did not have to bribe to receive!
Received 4th August 2008 ‘Dear Achievement
Specialists Team Please find attached my
completed coursework which comprises activities and post-modular
assignments, coaching log and 3,000 word thesis. Can I just say that
whilst I had initially thought this to be a simple task, whilst I
didn’t anticipate it would be a walk in the park, it has been a very
thought provoking and valuable exercise and I have learnt a lot
personally as well as professionally.
I do hope that I’ve completed the assignments
to the level you are expecting. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, I have to
say, when you’ve invested a lot of time creating / completing
something, and then you release it for critique.’ Susan Bartlett
Received 5th
August 2008 – We run free live coaching clinics each
month 'I appreciate
the helpful insights that came from my coaching clinic session with
you. I realised that I can be liable to assume responsibility for
clients instead of concentrating on the questions that will lead to
their own sense of confidence and clarity. I have stopped worrying
if clients encounter difficulties or discouragements en route to
huge goals, and begun to ask instead: 'So, what do you want to do
about that?' A simple question, but one that I've found opens up
magical new levels of resourcefulness and responsibility. Many
thanks, Curly!' Liz Ray www.lizray.com
Received 5th August 2008 – Sent to one of our
mentor coaches ‘Dear Steve, Just to say thank you for your time and
encouragement during the 6 coaching sessions which were part of my
Achievement Specialists Silver Plus programme. I have found it
extremely useful to bounce ideas off you and the personal coaching
sessions have given me a few “light bulb” moments. You have a knack
of slowing me down a bit and getting me to think about things from a
different angle. The session we did on reframing with respect to
“asking for money” was invaluable and I not only use that approach
with clients but have also used it to good effect both personally
and within my NHS work since.
I have made some significant and exciting
changes in my life over the past 12 months and as a result of
Curly’s course and the coaching sessions with you and I have now set
myself some even more challenging and exciting goals and am
confident that I will achieve them. Your approach has been just
right for me, so I will be in touch again to arrange some additional
sessions from time to time as we discussed. So, thanks once again,
and apologies again for the late start today.
Am just off out into
the garden now for a chill out for 5 minutes! Regards, Jean’ Dr Jean Challiner.

Every
product or service has four indivisible ingredients.
It has benefits,
uniqueness, visibility and a story. Successful marketing makes
potential clients equally aware of all four. Focus on benefits
rather than features, find and promote the quality that makes it
unique, let people know that it is available and easy to buy and,
tell a story about the values inherent in your offering and the
value that it can add to the life of the purchaser.

Testimonial for the
Personal Success Handbook
Curly Martin tops off a
terrific trilogy in her `handbook' series with an intensive
examination of the multi-faceted & elusive gem we know as
personal success. ced to a whole host of subjects that can enhance
our lives, but are treated to Curly's very own RAWPOWER model, borne
from over two decades of her own personal success. I found this to
be a highly useful tool that I could apply instantly to my life to
help expedite success. The Personal Success
Handbook is written in Curly's warm & absorbing style once
again, which makes the subject matter breathe with her fresh
perspective & delightful humour. It offers the reader plenty of
opportunity to reflect on what is being presented, as well as
encouragement to take action to move us forward on our journey to
success - something not always present in books of this nature. Quite simply put, this book would be
outstanding addition to the library of anyone who is serious about
personal development; whatever your current level of achievement,
the Personal Success Handbook will help propel you off the starting
blocks down the track to YOUR personal success with a renewed
perspective & inspired confidence Grant Willcox - Success

Do you
want to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big
pool?
What changes
is the environment in which you do your thing and the way that
others perceive you. A big fish in a small pond has considerable
power over a small domain. If it leaps over the bank into the big
pool it will just be another fin in the crowd, until it grows in
stature and earns a reputation by doing good. Think of this fishy
tale as you choose a niche market where you will create your future
earnings.
How To Attract
Clients
- Know Your
Niche – knowing exactly who you are targeting with your
service makes it a whole lot easier to find them
- Solve Their
Problem – by getting to know your niche, you can focus on what
your service can do for them. The narrower the niche, the easier
this is and the quicker you will attain ‘Expert Status’
- Market
Consistently – choose a simple set of marketing activities and
do them over and over and over
- Identify The
Benefits – by highlighting the benefits of your service, your
prospect will easily be able to see the effect that your solution
will have for them
- Track Your
Progress – keep a track of your Client Attraction techniques
and strategies so you can see easily what works and what needs
adjusting
- Keep Going –
Persistence is key. It can take time to fill your marketing funnel
or pipeline but it WILL happen.

Our columnist at large opens this column with a
talking seagull and closes with amazement at his own lack of
ultimate perfection.
I am not sure who to blame. It was either
Richard Bach who wrote Jonathan Livingstone Seagull or Wayne Dyer
who wrote Your Erroneous Zones. Yes, that middle word is ‘erroneous’
and not ‘erogenous’, after all, this is a family oriented
newsletter.
It
seems like a lifetime ago now, indeed it probably was before some
readers were born, that these two books came my way and as the
saying goes, ‘changed my life forever’. They didn’t do this by
inducing any amazing or shattering insights. They did it by setting
me on the path of personal discovery, of success psychology and all
that jazz. The seagull book opened my eyes to the possibility of
making vast sums of money by writing a short book about nothing in
particular. I mean, a talking and thinking seagull! How crazy is
that? It even spawned [or hatched?] a movie and a great album by
Neil Diamond.
The
Dyer book triggered my awareness that there was a whole genre of pop
psychology and self improvement volumes that was fascinating even if
I didn’t understand most of it. In those days they barely filled one
shelf at the local Waterstone’s. Now they cover several acres of
their own ‘mind, body, spirit’ section.
Over the next few years I learnt hypnotherapy
and experienced flotation, reflexology, acupuncture and aromatherapy
whilst politely turning down invitations to stick candles in my ear,
bash on drums while sitting naked with total strangers in a tepee on
Exmoor and exploring the clarity of enlightenment that is still
awaiting me at the lower reaches of the Himalayas. Then I wore out
several cassette machines and, later, CD players by listening to
countless recordings by enthusiastic Americans and, it seemed, the
occasional Brit with a strong regional accent.
One of my many careers
allowed me to meet the great and famous and, for a couple of years I
attended so many seminars and book launches that I dreaded the
prospect of yet another cardboard plate buffet of little dead things
on cold toast as the latest ‘motivational speaker’ motivated his
heart out on stage. It was against this background that I became
aware of the introduction of life coaching in the UK and was so
impressed by its logic, simplicity and results that I became [and
remain] heavily involved.
More recently there is a new collection of
toys. The DVD publishing world has discovered the profit seam
offered by works like The Secret and What The Blank Do We Know.
These combine sections of talking head lecturing with some cinematic
techniques [especially in What The Blank] that bring the world of
metaphysics into the popular domain.
There is one question that is so far
unanswered. How much self improvement or personal development
material can I absorb before I am perfectly developed? I must make a
note to ask my coach. Meanwhile, I am grateful to Richard, to Wayne
and, of course, Curly, for their fantastic books that have sustained
my interest over the years.
